Like traditional, laser skin resurfacing, Opus Plasma removes a small fraction of the skin, which stimulates the surrounding skin to repair itself. What is skin resurfacing?

Skin resurfacing, most commonly using a laser, is the most dramatic nonsurgical procedure to repair and renew the skin to address a wide range of skin concerns. Fractional-based skin resurfacing is the modern skin resurfacing method that involves creating a pattern of microscopic injuries to a fraction of the skin. What should I expect?

Opus Plasma is a quick, 15-minute outpatient treatment usually performed following application of a topical anesthetic. Is the treatment painful?

Depending on your treatment plan, the degree of discomfort will vary. Topical anesthetic may be recommended by your practitioner to numb the treatment area prior to the treatment to minimize any discomfort.

What does recovery look like?

This too will depend on the your treatment plan recommended by your practitioner. A clinical study has shown that Opus Plasma required 50%¹less downtime when compared to a fractional skin resurfacing technology using a laser. When using moderate settings, the downtime is minimal. You may experience 24 to 48 hours of mild to moderate redness and swelling — not significant to interfere with your daily activities.

How quickly will I notice results?

How long does an Opus Plasma™ treatment last?

Although Opus Plasma™ does not put a halt to the natural process of aging, you can maintain your results with maintenance treatments every six to twelve months.

Is there downtime with Opus Plasma™ treatment?

Because of Opus Plasma’s™ state-of-the-art technology and approach, patients experience drastically less downtime versus other laser treatments. You can expect about one to two days of redness and swelling, but you can generally return to your regular schedule immediately after treatment.

What can I expect after treatment?

Following the procedure, you will experience redness lasting ~4 hours. Redness or swelling lasting 1-2 days is not unusual. Symptoms will typically resemble a mild sunburn
A rough sandpaper-like feeling of the treated skin for 2-5 days
A small number of patients may experience scabbing in intensely treated areas
There is generally no downtime. You may resume normal activities following the procedure (avoid sun exposure on the day of the procedure).
Treatment around the eyes may result in eyelid swelling – use ice packs, sleep upright, avoid salty foods

What should I avoid after treatment?

Hot showers 24-hours post-procedure
Excess sweating 24-hours post-procedure (may cause a burning sensation)
Sun exposure after and in between treatments.
Do not use vaseline/aquaphor to treatment areas

Outstanding experience! I went it for a tattoo removal and was very nervous about it. Stephanie made me feel good about the whole process and made sure I felt very little pain. She’s a gem and would recommend her to anyone looking for anything laser. She’s the best! Thank you Stephanie!

I have gotten facials (from basic hydrating facials, to VI Peel, to OPUS laser facials) from Stephanie for the past 2 years and she is by far one of the best aestheticians I have ever met.
